The Bible Tells Me So

In this regular feature I will look at verses from the Bible. Lets read them thoughtfully and ponder the implications of following the instructions as given. Please feel free to send me any verse you think I could add in future.

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 (New International Version)18 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, 19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. 20 They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.” 21 Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

This is horrifying to be honest and of course very cruel. Not that I am a glutton or a drunkard but all kids - at times - don't listen to their parents. If this advice had to be followed strictly there would be no children left and the human race would die out.

Would you stone your child?

When kids have dreams...

Face it...we kids have determination and drive.

Never underestimate us for we are the future!

Solar panels for your eyes

Science is an awesome thing!! If they are planning this just imagine what we will be able to do once I have completed my studies one day.

Artificial eye may restore sight: Health24: Eye & vision: News: "A new type of artificial eye system could one day restore sight to people who have lost their vision due to degenerative eye diseases such as macular degeneration, according to the results of research with rats.
The system uses tiny solar panel-like cells that are surgically placed beneath the retina, along with a specially designed pair of goggles equipped with a miniature camera, and a pocket PC that processes the visual data, the Stanford University School of Medicine team explained."

The future is indeed bright!

Teachers beat kids into confessing | News24

This is terrible! We seriously need to do background and psychological tests on people before allowing them to become teachers!
Teachers beat kids into confessing | News24: "Johannesburg - Two teachers accused of kicking and punching seven boys appeared in the Christiana Magistrate's Court on Thursday, North West police said.
"The arrests followed a Daily Sun report that a 30-minute video showed how the boys were beaten into confessing to theft and housebreaking. The video pictures revealed men whipping, punching and kicking naked boys who were squirming on the ground, pleading for mercy, Daily Sun reported.
